Doga (or “dog yoga”) is a partner class for you and your dog. Led by Kari Harendorf, who helped pioneer this hybrid practice, our doga sessions are all about bonding with your pet, and giving the dog 45 minutes of undivided attention and praise from their favorite person in the world. The dogs do sun salutations and you’ll learn specific massage techniques to calm your dog and aid both circulation and digestion processes. And don’t worry: You’ll also get a workout, using your dog to assist you in traditional and modified poses.

THE DOG RUN NYC
The only pool for dogs in all of New York City, The Dog Run provides an alternative way to interact with your dog, providing safe, fun and active exercise. NEW YORK DOG DAYS

Legally catch a Frisbee in NYC?!!

A Parks Department "courtesy policy" permits your pooch to roam free only between the less-than-convenient hours of 9 p.m. and 9 A.M. in New York City. There are other restrictions that contradicts the parks' policy by stating that dogs must be leashed at all times. Any NYPD or Sanitation Department officer can issue a summons at any time. (but the odds of getting fined are very remote)

Dog owners can also take advantage of the city's public and private dog runs:

Madison Square Park, Madison Ave. To 5th Ave. between East 23rd St. & East 26th St.

Prospect Park Dog Beach
Located in Prospect Park, off 9th Street on the path leading down from the Tennis House. Dogs may only be off-leash before 9 am and after 9 pm in the summer and after 5 pm in the winter. People are not permitted to swim in the dog pool. Yes, there's a dog pool!

To report a dog bite, call the Department of Health's Veterinarian Public Health division at (212) 676-2483. As well, all threatening dogs should be reported to the Department of Health's Central Complaints division at (212) 442-1838.

Nights gone to the dogs!

The Gray Dog's Coffee on Carmine Street (west of 6th avenue) allows dogs inside; it's their policy and apparently they routinely and cheerfully pay off any health inspectors that come around (with regard to dog complaints.) It's a very cool place to hang out with your dog.The one thing to beware, however, is if your dog barks once, you're warned; twice, you're out.

MUD on 9th street near 2nd avenue (and their coffee bar in Kiehl's Pharmacy on 13th and 3rd) allows dogs inside the restaurant and in their backyard garden. (In the 9th street location, that is.) The one exception is that no dogs are allowed to set foot in the food preparation area in either location; I can live with that.
