New research has determined that pets do not require annual immunizations. Our resident doctor Shawn Messonnier, DVM answers yet another important question: "Vaccinating your pet: What's an owner to do?".

CRATE TRAINING

Crate training should not be abused, otherwise the problem will get drastically worse. The crate is not intended as a place to lock up the dog and forget her for extended periods of time. If your dog soils her crate, it is because you left her there too long...

SELF-EMPLOYED DOG?

All animals are genetically encoded with the instinct to expend energy in order to survive. In Nature, this comes in the form of the hunt for food, safety from predators, and safety from the elements. They even have to work to mate and certainly to provide for their offspring.

VET FEEDS PEOPLE FOOD

Paula Terifaj, DVM tells us everything most vets wont tell. If you truly value the health of your dog, you cannot afford to ignore the importance of good nutrition. Read "Why This Vet Feeds People Food To Her Dogs".

BROCCOLI FOR YOUR DOG

Eating healthy food is the easiest, most natural way to fight free radicals in your body and to prevent damage from oxidation. Antioxidants are a necessity for every diet – including your dogs and cats!

WHAT CAN ONE PERSON DO?

Did you know?

Veggies and fruits in general are good sources of nutrients for our dogs, but grapes are not recommended. There are well-documented reports of dogs developing acute kidney failure after ingesting grapes or raisins. It should also be noted that cooked veggies are better digested and absorbed than uncooked. And if dog owners are having some resistance getting their dogs to eat veggies, they can be finely be chopped up or pureed and mixed into meatloaf or stew.
